Wellness Corner 39: The Human Pyramid

Hey Falcons,
I hope you all had a relaxing and fun spring break, and had a chance to spend ample time with loved ones.

On the day of the festival of Janmashtami in India, a clay pot filled with butter is hung high off the ground, and dozens of young men form a human pyramid to try to be the first to break the pot.

The practice, known as Dahi Handi, reveals much about our lives. Only one or two people can reach the top of the pyramid. But these successful individuals have a whole system of supporters who are there for them to fall back on (literally, if the pyramid collapses) and help them rebuild.

It is key to have a support structure to find success in life. Those who reach the top didn’t get there alone.

As students, our support structures include family, teachers, coaches, school counselors, tutors, and friends. Finding people who build you up and don’t tear you down can change your life. Let’s all reflect on the people who make up our pyramid; let's consciously take action to eliminate people who tear us down and add people who build us up.

Have a great week ahead, and Go Falcons!

Stay well,

Eshaan
