Wellness Corner 9: Staying Fueled
Hey Kinkaid Community,
One more week to go until spring break! This week is loaded with assessments for several of us, so here are a few tips to manage stress levels as we push through.
1. Importance over urgency — that’s your motto! Make sure you’re addressing assessments/assignments of high point value/urgency first. Get all the easy stuff out of the way first, and then identify and eliminate your top four most pressing priorities.
2. Time management — I hear you groaning with frustration already. I know, I know… it’s tough. Ensure you’re working hard but also taking timed breaks and allowing your mind to recuperate. Try the Pomodoro Technique, and ensure that you’re pursuing wellness over your breaks too. That article also suggests taking 52 minute breaks rather than the Pomodoro method’s 25-minute breaks; see which one works best for you!
3. Exercise and nourishment are key — try out some Brain Gym exercises to get yourself centered and focused before assessments. Also, eat healthy: fruits, vegetables, and even some dark chocolate are all good choices.
And remember: you can do this! Onwards and upwards!
Stay well,
